David Jay was admitted to the NSW Bar in 2004. His practice is focussed on commercial clients and government agencies, in particular the Australian Taxation Office.
David is a part-time member of the NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal - Guardianship Division.

David was admitted to legal practice in NSW in 1998 following 18 months as tipstaff to Justice Peter Young.
David practised as a solicitor in commercial law firms specialising in commercial and insurance litigation.
David was, for two years, in-house counsel to a private corporation with a focus on therapeutic goods development and sales. He advised on litigious matters, corporate practice, intellectual property rights and government relations.
David has presented papers for the Law Society’s CLP programs on environmental law and family provision claims.
David is a member of the Francis Forbes Society for Australian Legal History.
In his spare time, David is an urban bee-keeper.
