ABOUT

David Rayment advises and appears for commercial and government based clients in complex commercial and financial disputes.

He regularly appears in the Federal Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of NSW. He has been involved in significant commercial litigation including large corporate disputes and trials. David also has experience in intermediate appellate Courts, securities class actions, public inquiries and appeals.

David has been recognised in the 2024 Legal 500 rankings.

David was admitted to the NSW Bar in 2004. He was a member of Frederick Jordan Chambers for 12 years before joining 6 St James Hall Chambers in February 2016. He took silk in 2022.

Prior to taking silk, he was regularly a tutor to barristers and participated in the NSW Bar Association mentor program.

David has served as a member of the NSW Bar Council for a number of years since 2009. He has previously served as a director of these chambers, a director of Frederick Jordan Chambers in 2015.

Before coming to the Bar, David was a Tipstaff to a Judge of the Supreme Court in 2003.

David is a competitive masters rower and ocean swimmer.
