The 2016 UNCITRAL Thailand Symposium, jointly hosted on 8 April, in Bangkok, with the Thailand Arbitration Centre, highlighted how adopting UNCITRAL Conventions and Model Laws helps make Regional Integration under the ASEAN Economic Committee a reality; addressed how enabling laws may allow SMEs to Navigate the Online Platform; discussed current challenges and developments on enforceability of mediated settlement agreements. It was a pleasure to speak at the Thailand Arbitration Centre's 2016 UNCITRAL Thailand Symposium in Bankgok last week. My fellow panelists on the importance of the CISG - Dr Fan Yang, City University Hong Kong, Dr Pinai Nanakorn, Thammasat University, Bankgok, with moderator DDG Vilawan Mangklatanakul and Head of UNCITRAL's Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific Joao Ribeiro.
